We are passionate about educating young adults about the harmful effects of commercial tobacco and alternative tobacco/nicotine products and engaging smokers in the quitting process. We use the information collected to help provide and support our programs and services.

- run surveys, promotions, contests or other site features;

How do we protect your data and privacy?
We use up-to-date, appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices, and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information, and data stored on our Sites. All information collected from you will be kept confidential as required by applicable privacy laws.
Sensitive and private data exchange between you and our Sites happens over a SSL secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures.
Who controls the data?
Brock University (where Leave The Pack Behind is housed) is your data controller. Brock University protects your privacy and your personal information. The personal information requested is collected under the authority of The Brock University Act, 1964, and in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
How is this information shared?
We do not sell, trade, or rent data collected from you. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal information with our community partners and stakeholders for the purposes outlined above.
Please note: In the event of legal reasons or in the event of a dispute, Leave The Pack Behind may share your information if we believe it is required by applicable law, regulation, legal process or government request.
For example, this includes sharing your information with law enforcement officials, government authorities, or other third parties as necessary to enforce our Terms of Service, to protect Brock University’s rights or property or the rights or property of others, or in the event of a claim or dispute relating to your use of our services.
How can I manage or delete information about me?
You can delete your account and/or data at any time, for any reasons with no penalty.
If you’ve created a Leave The Pack Behind “User” account, you can manage the content and information you share when you log in to your account.
We store data for as long as it is necessary to provide products and services to you. Information associated with your account will be kept until your account is deleted, or unless we no longer need the data to provide products and services.
How can I control my communication preferences?
If you’ve created a Leave The Pack Behind “User” account, you can manage the communication you receive when you log in to your account.
Alternatively, you can “unsubscribe” from mailings within the e-mail communication you receive.
